1 Спустя310 несколько времени умер4191 царь4428 Аммонитский,11215983 и воцарился4427 вместо него сын1121 его Аннон.2586

2 И сказал559 Давид:1732 окажу6213 я милость2617 Аннону,2586 сыну1121 Наасову,5176 за благодеяние,2617 которое оказал6213 мне отец1 его. И послал7971 Давид1732 слуг5650 своих утешить5162 Аннона об отце1 его. И пришли935 слуги5650 Давидовы1732 в землю776 Аммонитскую.11215983

3 Но князья8269 Аммонитские11215983 сказали559 Аннону,2586 господину113 своему: неужели ты думаешь, что Давид1732 из уважения3513 к отцу1 твоему прислал7971 к тебе утешителей?5162 не для того ли, чтобы5668 осмотреть2713 город5892 и высмотреть7270 в нем и после разрушить2015 его, прислал7971 Давид1732 слуг5650 своих к тебе?

4 И взял3947 Аннон2586 слуг5650 Давидовых,1732 и обрил1548 каждому из них половину2677 бороды,2206 и обрезал3772 одежды4063 их наполовину,2677 до чресл,8357 и отпустил7971 их.

5 Когда донесли5046 об этом Давиду,1732 то он послал7971 к ним навстречу,7125 так как они были очень3966 обесчещены.3637 И велел559 царь4428 сказать им: оставайтесь3427 в Иерихоне,3405 пока отрастут6779 бороды2206 ваши, и тогда возвратитесь.7725

7 Когда услышал8085 об этом Давид,1732 то послал7971 Иоава3097 со всем войском6635 храбрых.1368

8 И вышли3318 Аммонитяне11215983 и расположились6186 к сражению4421 у6607 ворот,8179 а Сирийцы758 Сувы6678 и Рехова,7340 и Истова,382 и Маахи,4601 стали отдельно905 в поле.7704

9 И увидел7200 Иоав,3097 что неприятельское6440 войско6440 было поставлено против него и спереди6440 и сзади,268 и избрал977 воинов из всех отборных977 в Израиле,3478 и выстроил6186 их против7125 Сирийцев;758

10 остальную3499 же часть3499 людей5971 поручил5414 Авессе,52 брату251 своему, чтоб он выстроил6186 их против7125 Аммонитян.11215983

11 И сказал559 Иоав: если Сирийцы758 будут2388 одолевать2388 меня, ты поможешь3444 мне; а если Аммонитяне11215983 тебя будут2388 одолевать,2388 я приду1980 к тебе на помощь;3467

12 будь2388 мужествен,2388 и будем2388 стоять2388 твердо2388 за народ5971 наш и за города5892 Бога430 нашего, а Господь3068 сделает,6213 что Ему угодно.2896

13 И вступил5066 Иоав3097 и народ,5971 который был у него, в сражение4421 с Сирийцами,758 и они побежали5127 от него.

14 Аммонитяне11215983 же, увидев,7200 что Сирийцы758 бегут,5127 побежали5127 от Авессы52 и ушли935 в город.5892 И возвратился7725 Иоав3097 от Аммонитян11215983 и пришел935 в Иерусалим.3389

15 Сирийцы,758 видя,7200 что они поражены5062 Израильтянами,3478 собрались622 вместе.3162

16 И послал7971 Адраазар1928 и призвал3318 Сирийцев,758 которые за5676 рекою,5104 и пришли935 они к Еламу;2431 а Совак,7731 военачальник82696635 Адраазаров,1928 предводительствовал ими.

17 Когда донесли5046 об этом Давиду,1732 то он собрал622 всех Израильтян,3478 и перешел5674 Иордан3383 и пришел935 к Еламу.2431 Сирийцы758 выстроились6186 против7125 Давида1732 и сразились3898 с ним.

18 И побежали5127 Сирийцы758 от Израильтян.3478 Давид1732 истребил2026 у Сирийцев758 семьсот76513967 колесниц7393 и сорок705 тысяч505 всадников;6571 поразил5221 и военачальника82696635 Совака,7731 который там и умер.4191

19 Когда все цари4428 покорные5650 Адраазару1928 увидели,7200 что они поражены5062 Израильтянами,3478 то заключили7999 мир7999 с Израильтянами3478 и покорились5647 им. А Сирийцы758 боялись3372 более помогать3467 Аммонитянам.11215983

Chapter 10

1 AFTER this the king of the Ammonites died, and Hanun his son reigned in his stead.

2 Then said David, I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father showed kindness to me. So David sent by his servants to comfort him for his father. And David's servants came to the land of the Ammonites.

3 And the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun their lord, Do you think that David is honoring your father, that he has sent comforters to you? Has not David rather sent his servants to you to spy out the city and to explore it and to overthrow it?

4 Wherefore Hanun took David's servants and shaved off the one-half of their beards and cut off their garments in the middle as far as their buttocks, and sent them away.

5 When they told it to David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed; and the king said to them, Tarry at Jericho until your beards have grown and then return.

6 And when the Ammonites saw that they had acted foolishly toward David, the Ammonites sent and hired the Arameans of the son of Rehob and the Arameans of the son of Zobah, twenty thousand footmen, and of the king of Maacah a thousand men and of Ish-tob twelve thousand footmen.

7 And when David heard of it, he sent Joab and all the host of the mighty men.

8 And the Ammonites came out and set their men in battle array at the entrance of the gate of Edom the son of Rehob; and the forces of Aram the son of Zobah and Ish-tob and Maacah were by themselves in the field.

9 When Joab saw that the battle was set against him both in the front and in the rear, he selected the choice men of Israel and put them in array against Aram;

10 And the rest of the people he placed in the charge of Abishai his brother, and he put them in array against the Ammonites.

11 And he said to Abishai his brother, If the Arameans prove too strong for me, then you shall help me; but if the Ammonites prove too strong for you, then I will come and help you.

12 Be of good courage, and let us fight for the sake of our people and for the sake of the cities of our God: and the LORD will do what is good in his sight.

13 And Joab and the people who were with him drew near to battle against the Arameans, and they fled before him.

14 And when the Ammonites saw that the Arameans had fled, then they fled also before Abishai and entered into the city. So Joab returned from fighting against the Ammonites and came to Jerusalem.

15 And when the Arameans saw that they were defeated before Israel, they gathered themselves together.

16 And Hadarezer sent and brought out the Arameans that were beyond the river Euphrates; and they came to Helam; and Shobach the general of Hadarezer's army went before them.

17 And when it was told David, he gathered all Israel together and crossed the Jordan and came to Helam. And the Arameans set themselves in array against David, and David fought against them.

18 And the Arameans fled before Israel; and David destroyed one thousand and seven hundred chariots of the Arameans and slew four thousand horsemen and a great many of the people, and he smote Shobach the general of their army, who died there.

19 And when all the kings who were servants of Hadarezer saw that they were defeated before Israel, they made peace with Israel and served them. So the Arameans feared to help the Ammonites any more.

1 AFTER this the king of the Ammonites died, and Hanun his son reigned in his stead.

3 And the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun their lord, Do you think that David is honoring your father, that he has sent comforters to you? Has not David rather sent his servants to you to spy out the city and to explore it and to overthrow it?

4 Wherefore Hanun took David's servants and shaved off the one-half of their beards and cut off their garments in the middle as far as their buttocks, and sent them away.

5 When they told it to David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed; and the king said to them, Tarry at Jericho until your beards have grown and then return.

6 And when the Ammonites saw that they had acted foolishly toward David, the Ammonites sent and hired the Arameans of the son of Rehob and the Arameans of the son of Zobah, twenty thousand footmen, and of the king of Maacah a thousand men and of Ish-tob twelve thousand footmen.

7 Когда услышал8085 об этом Давид,1732 то послал7971 Иоава3097 со всем войском6635 храбрых.1368

7 And when David heard of it, he sent Joab and all the host of the mighty men.

8 И вышли3318 Аммонитяне11215983 и расположились6186 к сражению4421 у6607 ворот,8179 а Сирийцы758 Сувы6678 и Рехова,7340 и Истова,382 и Маахи,4601 стали отдельно905 в поле.7704

9 When Joab saw that the battle was set against him both in the front and in the rear, he selected the choice men of Israel and put them in array against Aram;

10 остальную3499 же часть3499 людей5971 поручил5414 Авессе,52 брату251 своему, чтоб он выстроил6186 их против7125 Аммонитян.11215983

10 And the rest of the people he placed in the charge of Abishai his brother, and he put them in array against the Ammonites.

11 И сказал559 Иоав: если Сирийцы758 будут2388 одолевать2388 меня, ты поможешь3444 мне; а если Аммонитяне11215983 тебя будут2388 одолевать,2388 я приду1980 к тебе на помощь;3467

11 And he said to Abishai his brother, If the Arameans prove too strong for me, then you shall help me; but if the Ammonites prove too strong for you, then I will come and help you.

12 будь2388 мужествен,2388 и будем2388 стоять2388 твердо2388 за народ5971 наш и за города5892 Бога430 нашего, а Господь3068 сделает,6213 что Ему угодно.2896

12 Be of good courage, and let us fight for the sake of our people and for the sake of the cities of our God: and the LORD will do what is good in his sight.

13 И вступил5066 Иоав3097 и народ,5971 который был у него, в сражение4421 с Сирийцами,758 и они побежали5127 от него.

13 And Joab and the people who were with him drew near to battle against the Arameans, and they fled before him.

14 Аммонитяне11215983 же, увидев,7200 что Сирийцы758 бегут,5127 побежали5127 от Авессы52 и ушли935 в город.5892 И возвратился7725 Иоав3097 от Аммонитян11215983 и пришел935 в Иерусалим.3389

14 And when the Ammonites saw that the Arameans had fled, then they fled also before Abishai and entered into the city. So Joab returned from fighting against the Ammonites and came to Jerusalem.

15 Сирийцы,758 видя,7200 что они поражены5062 Израильтянами,3478 собрались622 вместе.3162

15 And when the Arameans saw that they were defeated before Israel, they gathered themselves together.

16 И послал7971 Адраазар1928 и призвал3318 Сирийцев,758 которые за5676 рекою,5104 и пришли935 они к Еламу;2431 а Совак,7731 военачальник82696635 Адраазаров,1928 предводительствовал ими.

16 And Hadarezer sent and brought out the Arameans that were beyond the river Euphrates; and they came to Helam; and Shobach the general of Hadarezer's army went before them.

17 Когда донесли5046 об этом Давиду,1732 то он собрал622 всех Израильтян,3478 и перешел5674 Иордан3383 и пришел935 к Еламу.2431 Сирийцы758 выстроились6186 против7125 Давида1732 и сразились3898 с ним.

17 And when it was told David, he gathered all Israel together and crossed the Jordan and came to Helam. And the Arameans set themselves in array against David, and David fought against them.

18 И побежали5127 Сирийцы758 от Израильтян.3478 Давид1732 истребил2026 у Сирийцев758 семьсот76513967 колесниц7393 и сорок705 тысяч505 всадников;6571 поразил5221 и военачальника82696635 Совака,7731 который там и умер.4191

18 And the Arameans fled before Israel; and David destroyed one thousand and seven hundred chariots of the Arameans and slew four thousand horsemen and a great many of the people, and he smote Shobach the general of their army, who died there.

19 Когда все цари4428 покорные5650 Адраазару1928 увидели,7200 что они поражены5062 Израильтянами,3478 то заключили7999 мир7999 с Израильтянами3478 и покорились5647 им. А Сирийцы758 боялись3372 более помогать3467 Аммонитянам.11215983

19 And when all the kings who were servants of Hadarezer saw that they were defeated before Israel, they made peace with Israel and served them. So the Arameans feared to help the Ammonites any more.
